Nursing home Christmas caroling outing

meeting for cookie sales and changes to troop

Meeting on Wednesday, January 16th from 6:00-7:00 at CS Elementary. Girls will practice cookie selling, pick up cookies and learn how to sign up for booth sales.  Remember...an adult is required to sign for the cookies---and NO cookies will be returned to the troop.  If you take them--you must sell them (the exception is that you can trade during booth sales--box for box--to keep numbers for each girl correct).  Remember--checks are accepted if made out to Girl Scout Troop 7013 and must be made out for at least $14 and no more than $100 and must include DL number and phone number.

Due to changes in both your troop leader's and assistant troop leader's family structure, we are forced to make a change in our bi-monthly meetings.  They will now go from Thursday nights to Wednesday nights, but still from 6:00-7:00.  I apologize for any conflicts that this causes with church activities, but is the only solution in order for the troop to continue with its current leadership.  We will continue to have outings on Saturdays as much as possible.  If you absolutely cannot work with this schedule, please let me know and I can try to find you another CS troop to participate with.

Change to summer troop 7013 vacation.  Due to the complexities and price associated with flight and travel to Savannah GA, we have changed our destination to a simpler and cheaper alternative.  We are tentatively scheduling a "crafting, cooperating, and creative Carnival Cruise campout and badgefest" from July 25th-July 29th.  We will leave out of the Port at Galveston, TX which requires NO passport (only SSN card and birth certificate).  The price is approximately $536 per person and the entire family is welcome to join us.  This price includes taxes and all room, board, and port fees.  We will be traveling to Cozumel, Mexico and will plan an optional outing there (an additional cost per person).  Because we are traveling out of the country, each girl must be accompanied by at least one parent.  We will have a specific itinerary outlining troop activities daily, as well as family time.  The ship is the Carnival Triumph and contains multiple kid friendly activities on board as well as Carnival being known as the "fun ships".  I feel it will be the perfect mix of fun and education to reward the girls for all their hard work in the community and with nut and cookie sales.  We are also planning car washes and a garage sale to help offset the costs.  If anyone has other fundraising ideas, please share them!

Thank you for your understanding.  See you on the 16th.   -Gwen
